The Venezuelan Prison Observatory (OVP) reported this Tuesday the death of Sergio Gabriel Ascanio, which occurred over the past weekend, at the Barcelona Agro-Productive Penitentiary, in the state of Anzoátegui, annexed to the José Antonio Anzoátegui Judicial Internment Center, widely known as Puente Ayala prison.
According to the organization, the death was due to health problems and a lack of adequate medical care, and it is the second death recorded in this facility in less than a month. On July 27th, Luis Felipe Moreno Moreno died, who also suffered from health problems and had been transferred to the Dr. Luis Razetti University Hospital in Barcelona.
