Maria Corina presents an updated situation in Venezuela regarding human rights and makes a concrete petition to the members of the Commission:

1. Continue documenting the usurpation of power and what happened on June 28 as a legitimate exercise of popular sovereignty, despite legal and international violations.

2. Maintain constant denunciation until the release of all political prisoners and amplify the voices of those who remain detained.

3. Denounce the irregularities of the Amnesty Law and demand its full and unrestricted application.

4. Propose an international visit by the IACHR to Venezuela as a sign of support for victims and human rights defenders.

5. Request a new updated report on the situation of the country.

6. Continue promoting the necessary measures until the violations cease

⚡️🇺🇸🇻🇪U.S. Secretary of Energy Wright confirmed that changes in ownership of Venezuela's state owned oil industry is part of dialogue between the U.S. and Venezuela.

"PDVSA was a highly professional, technically competent oil and gas company 30 years ago, and it hasn't been one for quite some time. So of course, that'll be a subject of dialogue.

And again, that's in America's best interest, that's in Venezuela's best interest to have professional competent management of PDVSA.

So, you know, we're early on in this situation, but certainly enhancing and professionalising and proving the quality of PDVSA, absolutely on the agenda."

🛢 🇻🇪 ⚡️ Venezuela's largest refinery out of service after power blackout, sources say

Feb 9 (Reuters) - Venezuela's largest refinery, the 645,000-barrel-per-day Amuay, was taken out of service on Monday following a power blackout, four sources close to the facility's operations said

Electricity outages hitting state oil company PDVSA's facilities are frequent, which leads to refinery operations well below their installed capacity. Amuay was processing some 137,000 bpd before the incident, one of the sources said.

Clippve from El Helicoide:

Families maintain their faith and prayers intact at the gates of El Helicoide. Today marks 31 days of a relentless vigil; a month where spiritual hope is the only refuge against the wait.

It's important to remember that prolonging releases is a violation of human rights. Maintaining this state of uncertainty not only infringes on personal freedom, but also directly threatens the mental health of family members, subjecting them to unnecessary and cruel emotional exhaustion.

The families' stance is firm: the vigil outside the detention center will not cease until all their loved ones are home.
