⚠️🇻🇪🇦🇷 The Argentine government confirmed on Wednesday the release from prison of Roberto Baldo, an Argentine citizen who had been arbitrarily detained in Venezuela since the end of 2024. The information was disseminated by Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, who noted that the Foreign Ministry had kept the case confidential at the family's request and that it continues to be in constant contact with them.
"The Argentine Republic confirms that the Argentine citizen Roberto Baldo, who was arbitrarily detained in Venezuela, has been released from prison," Quirno said in an official statement. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that it is closely monitoring Baldo's situation, as well as that of all Argentines who remain detained without guarantees in that country.
The Argentine government also reiterated its demand to the Venezuelan regime to immediately release Nahuel Gallo and Germán Giuliani, who continue to be deprived of their freedom.
Baldo, an Argentine-Venezuelan, was detained along with his wife, the Spanish-Venezuelan Montserrat Espinosa, at the end of 2024. Both were released from prison a few days ago, according to sources consulted, although for the moment they remain in Venezuela and under restrictions, without authorization to leave the country.
Baldo's release comes just two days after the government of President Javier Milei confirmed the release from prison of Gustavo Gabriel Rivara, another Argentine citizen arbitrarily detained in Venezuela.

🇻🇪🇦🇷 On Tuesday, February 3rd, dozens of Venezuelans gathered in Vaticano Square, next to the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, to demand the release of all political prisoners who remain arbitrarily detained in Venezuela. With balloons and lights, they formed a giant word "LIBERTY", in a vigil that coincided with the first month of Nicolás Maduro's capture and extraction.
The vigil was attended by family members of Argentines Nahuel Gallo, a gendarme, and Germán Giuliani, a lawyer, who continue to be detained in Venezuela.
