Political leader Andrés Velásquez reappeared publicly this Monday after several months in hiding and held a press conference in which he questioned the role of Delcy Rodríguez as the regime's representative in the political process the country is going through.

Velásquez claimed that the official "in herself generates instability" and warned that Venezuela cannot be trapped in an indefinite scheme without a clear timeline.

Velásquez explained that the US government has proposed a three-phase process — stabilization, reconstruction, and transition — that the opposition is willing to accompany, but insisted that this scheme must have defined dates and limits.

"We need to set a timeline. This cannot remain open indefinitely. Venezuela's destiny cannot be an oil deal and a dictatorship led by Delcy Rodríguez, because that would be a continuation of the dictatorship," he stated.
