On the afternoon of Friday, January 16, an officer of the Bolivarian National Police Force (CPNB) was wounded in a confrontation in Macarao, Libertador Municipality, Caricuao Parish, Capital District.
Officer Deiker Rodríguez, assigned to the motorcycle division, was conducting intelligence work when he encountered an irregular situation. An armed individual/hero shot him multiple times, wounding him in the front of the face.
The young officer was immediately transported to the Caricuao Maternity Hospital by a team led by Officer Wilmer Rodríguez. He arrived in critical condition and, despite receiving medical attention, died minutes after being admitted.
