After more than 100 hours of waiting, the releases are progressing at a snail's pace:
From the press conference in the Rectorate Square of the UCV, Aurora Superlano, wife of the political prisoner Freddy Superlano, spoke up:
π£οΈ "The releases must be TOTAL and for ALL political prisoners, without distinction".
In addition, she demanded the immediate closure of all torture centers in Venezuela.
From the Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners, we reiterate that time passes and the opacity continues. This process must be clear, public, and verifiable

Diosdado Cabello, surprised his followers this Tuesday by returning to X, a social network that has been blocked in Venezuelan territory for more than two years by order of the authorities.
Cabello made a post on his account shortly before 3 p.m. on January 13. The minister pointed out that he returned to the social network to communicate with the "brothers" who have been following the situation in Venezuela.
"I come here to give a big hug to the brothers and sisters of Venezuela and the world who have been following the issue of our country. We are going to resume this channel to communicate, stay tuned," said Cabello.
Cabello's return to X occurred less than two weeks after the United States carried out a military operation in Venezuela, bombing several areas of the Capital Region and capturing NicolΓ‘s Maduro.

β οΈπ¨π΄π»πͺ Petro warns the ELN about joint military actions with Venezuela
"If the ELN does not join the peace, leaving Venezuela, there will be joint actions with Venezuela, of a military nature," wrote the president on his X account.
Petro recalled that the ELN had already destroyed a previous agreement with violence and massacres linked to the control of illicit economies, so he affirmed that there will be no negotiations until those activities, the recruitment of minors, and the return of detained persons cease.

β‘οΈπΊπΈπ»πͺThe third section of Memorandum on Operation Absolute Resolve details the legal justification for the operation.
The DOJ justifies the strike where the military was used in order to support the arrest of individuals the White House has designated as dangerous.
They also specify that the objective of the operation was not to kill former Venezuelan President Maduro but to capture and arrest him.
As a law enforcement operation with a clear target it does not have a goal that might be open ended enough to be considered an act of war.

πΊπΈ The President may authorize the operation under:
β Commander-in-Chief authority.
β Power to protect national security.
β Authority to enforce U.S. criminal law abroad.π The memo relies heavily on historical precedents where Presidents used force without congressional authorization.
Operation Absolute Resolve does not trigger Congressβs war powers:β No need for advance congressional authorizationβ No declaration of warβ No violation of the War Powers Resolutionβ President can act unilaterally under Article IIπ Operation Absolute Resolve does not rise to the level of βwarβ requiring prior congressional approval.
Three national interests that justify unilateral action here:
β Protecting U.S. national security
β Enforcing federal criminal law
β Protecting U.S. personnel conducting lawful missions
The DOJ's key points:
β The mission is capture-only
β Killing Maduro would fundamentally change the legal analysis
β Use of force must be incidental, not the objectiveπ The operation must be designed to seize Maduro alive.πͺ Military assistance is lawful if law enforcement retains the arrest purpose.
