Joint company of PDVSA and Chevron activates the first of 17 wells planned in Venezuela

Petroindependencia - a mixed company with operations of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and the American Chevron in the Caribbean country - activated the first of the 17 new generation wells that it plans to install this year as part of the 'Drilling Plan 2024', according to a press release from the Venezuelan state company released this Wednesday.

Last February, the drill began operations in the Orinoco Oil Belt - an extensive area in the east of the country that houses its largest crude oil reserves - in compliance with the provisions of the "operational plan drawn up by the mixed company", one of actions to increase national crude oil production, according to PDVSA.

The NGO Provea asked the international community to carry out diplomatic efforts to prevent the approval of the 'bill against fascism, neo-fascism and similar expressions', considering it an advance in the "construction of a totalitarian government model."
