the Oliver Anthony "Rich Men North of Richmond" story is actually a great example of how detached from reality Con inc is. Con inc pushes this guys shitty country music to use it as propaganda supporting how they are "winning" the culture war or whatever. We know they aren't, and we know that this is their latest useless stunt is comparable (albeit less effective) to the target boycott. It has zero impact on changing anything important, but gives an easy "win" for seniors to boast about around the campfire. Nobody uses iTunes. Nobody is even really listening to this guys music. They'll see benny johnson RT it and give it a like, because that's how they think they are contributing to "saving america". It's absolutely gross how TPUSA/ Con Inc twists the minds of the average conservative, but it's how they keep their power within media. They could be moving the needle with all of the funding they get, but instead create these ineffective trends that kick the can down the road. The MAGA base is starving for real action, they want to be involved. This is an example of Con Incs solution to keep them from doing/ believing anything truly radical. Clogging up the pipeline to more extreme views is the only play they have left. The base is ready for metaphorical war (the political kind) and It's our job to provide a space where the truth and actual solutions are present.
