The rules package is fine. People will say, look this why the 20 held their vote —look at the wonderful results it yielded! But imo the act of saying “Fuck you, Kevin McCarthy—you’re not getting our vote” was far more consequential than anything in this package. Investigations will drag on and there are far too many checks and balances in the Senate and White House for any of this to mean anything. I am more interested in letting Republicans know we are not going to give the reins of power to shitty legislators hell bent on our demise simply because they have an R next to their name. The protest itself was the goal, though many in the commentariat will insist it was just a tactic to get this rules package—which, again, won’t give us the change we want. That will come from stubborn, relentless, immovable opposition to this dirty system we all justifiably want to see burnt to the ground.

YOU BITCH BARBIE LEAVE DONALD TRUMP DA HELL ALONE O’ WE GON COME FO’ YO ASS SISTA DONT PLAY WID US GURL CUZ WE DIAMOND N SILK” and i was like what the fuck, it was wild because no one had ever seen Republicans act this way before. Republicans were always the serious button up party. And so it was a big moment in the sense that it showed the Jeb Bushes of the Party: you have no idea what you’re up against bc Trump will unleash a couple of hood bitches on the establishment and you won’t know what to do. That was their mark on the movement. The problem is Con Inc saw stars and tried to make them into these political analyst types with a network show and everything, which is absurd. And as a result, Con Inc crafted them as these minority poster children for the Walk Away movement and all these other elements that were detrimental to “MAGA.” But I don’t necessarily blame them for their own exploitation and I pray for the eternal rest of Diamond (of Diamond and Silk!) Rest in peace🙏
