Between 1854 and 1929 over 250k children were put on trains and sent to every state in the US to find new homes. Lined up in stations to be selected. Some did, others chosen to work as labourers....
Where were all their parents?....
This most certainly happened across the world as newspapers show. Children were advertised for adoption from courthouses, town halls even opera houses. Babies were more desirable coming from 'foundling' hospitals. These were called 'incubator babies'...
