President Donald Trump said on Sunday his tariff policy was aimed at promoting the domestic manufacturing of tanks and technology products, not sneakers and T-shirts.
Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One in New Jersey, Trump said he agreed with comments from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on April 29 that the US does not necessarily need a “booming textile industry” – comments that drew criticism from the National Council of Textile Organizations.

🍽 On the heels of the heavily-criticized dinner hosted by President Donald Trump for the top investors of the $TRUMP meme coin, a top New York Times reporter has come out with a stunning breakdown of how Trump has monetized his office.
📰In a piece published Sunday, New York Times chief White House correspondent Peter Baker dove deep on Trump’s various financial gambits and concluded that they are without rival in American history.
Baker wrote.
💰Baker listed off the various ways in which the Trump family has cashed in, and the staggering amounts they have added to their coffers.
The crypto scheme and the acceptance of the jet from Qatar has drawn heavy criticism on the left and even some on the right. Ben Shapiro, Laura Loomer, and Tucker Carlson are just a few of the notable conservatives who have called out Trump in recent days for profiting off of his office.

📰In a piece published Sunday, New York Times chief White House correspondent Peter Baker dove deep on Trump’s various financial gambits and concluded that they are without rival in American history.
“The Trumps are hardly the first presidential family to profit from their time in power, but they have done more to monetize the presidency than anyone who has ever occupied the White House,”
Baker wrote.
“The scale and the scope of the presidential mercantilism has been breathtaking.”
💰Baker listed off the various ways in which the Trump family has cashed in, and the staggering amounts they have added to their coffers.
The Trump family and its business partners have collected $320 million in fees from a new cryptocurrency, brokered overseas real estate deals worth billions of dollars and are opening an exclusive club in Washington called the Executive Branch charging $500,000 apiece to join, all in the past few months alone.
Just last week, Qatar handed over a luxury jet meant for Mr. Trump’s use not just in his official capacity but also for his presidential library after he leaves office. Experts have valued the plane, formally donated to the Air Force, at $200 million, more than all of the foreign gifts bestowed on all previous American presidents combined.
And Mr. Trump hosted an exclusive dinner at his Virginia club for 220 investors in the $TRUMP cryptocurrency that he started days before taking office in January. Access was openly sold based on how much money they chipped in — not to a campaign account but to a business that benefits Mr. Trump personally.

📘 A small, tight-knit group in former President Joe Biden’s inner circle was running the White House like a “politburo,” and they were the “ultimate decision-makers” as Biden’s health and cognitive function continued to decline, according to the authors of a bombshell new book.
👥 This group, dubbed the “politburo,” included a coterie of seasoned political veterans, including Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti and Bruce Reed — but also family members such as first lady Jill Biden and the president’s son Hunter, the authors of “Original Sin” claim.
“Original Sin” author Alex Thompson told PBS’ “Washington Week” on Friday.
Former White House chief of staff Ron Klain was at times part of the “politburo,” as was former senior adviser to the president Annie Tomasini. Also on the “politburo” was the first lady’s former top adviser and “work husband,” Anthony Bernal, whom The Post previously reported created a toxic workplace environment.
said co-author and CNN anchor Jake Tapper, referring to the movie about a dead guy who is wheeled around as part of an elaborate ruse.

📘 "A scandal worse than Watergate." The author of a book about Joe Biden said that he did not actually run the country because of his health condition
🕵️ American journalist and author of the book "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline" Jake Tapper compared the scandal surrounding the health of former US President Joe Biden with the Watergate investigation and concluded that "the situation is probably worse."
Tapper said.
👥 According to him, in the case of Biden, the country was actually ruled not by him, but by a narrow circle of assistants, his wife Jill Biden and son Hunter.
📚 The book "Original Sin," written by Tapper and journalist Alex Thompson, says the White House systematically covered up Biden's deteriorating condition.
🤕 Falls, forgetfulness, unsteady gait, confused speech — all this was hushed up. So, when Biden publicly searched for the deceased Congresswoman Jackie Walorski in 2022, this was explained as a "perception error."
🗣 The authors, who spoke to more than 200 sources, claim that instead of Biden, the real management was handled by:
Chief of Staff Ron Klain
Strategist Mike Donilon
Deputy Chief of Staff Bruce Reed
Advisor Steve Ricchetti
👩⚕️ First Lady Jill Biden and Hunter Biden, whom Tapper calls "sneaky" and "prone to terrible decisions," played a big role.
one Biden team member says in the book.
⚠️ Tapper argues that this strategy threatened not only the integrity of the election, but also the stability of the entire US political system.

Musk lashed out at Trump
Musk said that he was disappointed with this massive spending law, which undermines the entire work of the DOGE team.
Musk's financial concerns are backed up by official calculations. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the implementation of the law will lead to an increase in government spending by $ 3.8 trillion by 2034. As a result, the US national debt may reach 32 trillion, which is already 120% of the country's GDP.
Earlier, Trump personally appointed Musk to head the Department of Government Efficiency(DOGE), where he promised to save hundreds of billions of budget dollars. However, in early May, Musk announced his resignation from the post before the end of the month — now the department will continue to work without him.

We are talking about a law that provides for tax breaks, additional costs for border protection and cuts in the healthcare sector. The House of Representatives has already approved the document, but a vote in the Senate is still ahead."

Trump again said that Canada is "considering" a proposal to become the 51st state.🇨🇦
The president wrote in Truth Social that Canada can get free access to the American Golden Dome missile defense system if it agrees to become part of the United States. Otherwise, it will cost the neighboring country of the United States $61 billion.
The day before, King Charles III made a speech in the country's parliament. His entire trip, and this speech in particular, is a signal to Donald Trump that the United Kingdom supports Canadian independence.
Golden Dome is a $175 billion satellite missile defense project. The US promises to put the system into operation in three years." According to Trump, Canada itself has asked for the inclusion of Russia in the program. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's office confirmed negotiations on security and new agreements with the United States.

And the fact is that the distribution of humanitarian aid is now going through the Americans.
Whoever distributes food in the area controls the area.
We learned from very weak sources, that Trump was preparing a secret agreement with Hamas to bypass Israel.
He is about to partially recognize Hamas in exchange for its refusal to obey Iran. In short, Trump is going to privatize Hamas and run it himself.

The single most important prop sustaining the US economy today is the global power of the dollar.
America’s relative prosperity (which until recently was dubbed ‘US exceptionalism’) rests far more on the role of its currency than on its tech companies, abundant resources or famed entrepreneurial spirit. Because the dollar is accepted as world money, when the American state and its corporations spend or borrow abroad, foreigners have been willing buyers. This has enabled a seemingly endless flow of cheap money to support the economy at home.
Today, however, this special benefit is looking increasingly vulnerable. And the greatest threat to the dollar’s status doesn’t come from Russia or China or even Europe, but from the US government’s own actions.
The US government borrows money by selling bonds called ‘treasuries’, mainly to banks, pension funds and foreign governments. In return, it pays them interest – called the ‘yield’. If investors start selling off existing bonds, their prices drop and yields go up. To attract new buyers, the government then has to raise the interest rate on newly issued bonds.

The court banned Trump from introducing duties. Stock markets are cheering, the president himself is furious
🤑 The US Federal Court has lifted almost all trade duties imposed by Donald Trump. The judge ruled that the president did not have the authority to impose "unlimited surcharges on goods from virtually any country," citing the 1977 emergency law. Such a right, as the court explained, belongs exclusively to Congress.
Financial markets reacted instantly. The US Dow Jones index went up, the price of oil rose by more than a dollar, and the German DAX added 0.5%.
"Stock markets are celebrating Donald Trump's defeat in the U.S. trade court," said analyst Thomas Altman of QC Partners.
According to analysts, this decision reduced the level of economic uncertainty that frightened investors.
Trump adviser Stephen Miller accused the judges of a "legal coup." According to him, the US judicial system is "out of control".

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. met with Argentine President Javier Milei on Tuesday at the Casa Rosada, where both leaders reaffirmed plans to withdraw their nations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and build a new international health framework.
The meeting brought together two strong-willed political outsiders. Milei, a libertarian economist known for cutting government spending, and Kennedy, a Trump-appointed health chief skeptical of pandemic-era mandates. Both promised to challenge what they call global overreach and politicized health policy.
Argentina officially confirmed its exit from the WHO during Kennedy’s visit, following Milei’s initial announcement in February. The move aligns with President Trump’s revived pledge to pull the U.S. out of the WHO as part of his "Make America Healthy Again" (MAHA) agenda.

Trump's secretary cites Fictional research to "make America Healthy again"
✏️ ✏️ ✏️ ✏️
U.S. Secretary of Health Robert F. Smith Kennedy Jr. is a well-known vaccine opponent and conspiracy theorist. He has repeatedly surprised the public, and again-this time by referring to non-existent scientific research in a government report.
Last week, this report on chronic diseases in children and adolescents was published by the Ministry itself. As the AFP news agency found out, 4% of links lead to research on children's health, which is not available. In total, the report contains 7 dubious sources, according to the Notus portal.
The Make America Healthy Again report concludes that chronic diseases in children and adolescents are primarily caused by processed foods and supplements, environmental toxins, and lack of physical activity. In addition, the danger allegedly coming from vaccination is mentioned.
Scholar Guohua Li from Columbia University, he said that the quote attributed to him in the report is "completely made up". Epidemiologist Catherine Keyes also said that she did not write the article mentioned in the ministerial report. Where the data attributed to her might have come from, she doesn't know. Some links, including an article in the scientific journal Jama, lead nowhere, according to AFP.
Trump's Democratic opponents criticized the report as "full of misinformation." The Ministry of Health, they say, is trying to "justify its political priorities" with the help of fake research.

🚲⚖️🇺🇸 Donald Trump's customs war was prevented by a women's bicycle clothing store
On May 28, a US federal court overturned most of the customs duties imposed by President Trump. The lawsuit was filed by five entrepreneurs: a manufacturer of musical instruments 🎸, a pipe manufacturer 🛠, a seller of fishing gear 🎣, a liquor dealer 🍾, and Terry Cycling, a women's cycling clothing store 🚴♀️👚. All of them complained that due to the tariffs, the cost of essential imported goods rose significantly 📈.
The plaintiffs were supported by 12 U.S. states 🗺.
A New York court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs ✅ and ordered the removal of general duties on all imports, stating that Trump exceeded his authority. According to the U.S. Constitution 📜, only Congress can fully regulate foreign trade 🏛. The government now has 10 days to prepare for the cancellation of these duties ⏳.
🟡 Important to note: This ruling applies only to general tariffs. Duties on specific goods — like cars 🚗, steel 🏗, aluminum 🧱, and semiconductors 💾 from the EU 🇪🇺 — remain in force.
The Trump administration has already filed an appeal 🔁. The case may go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court 🏛⚖️. It’s possible that the appellate court could side with the White House and restore the tariffs 🔄. Trump may also try to reimpose similar duties under different legal justifications.

🚨👮♂️ U.S. Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger, who is set to retire from the force on Friday, slammed President Donald Trump for pardoning rioters convicted or facing charges for their role in the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, attack.
“It was, I think, a slap in the face to every police officer that was here,” Manger told CBS News’ Scott MacFarlane in an interview shared Wednesday.
🪖 Manger was initially pulled out of retirement to take the agency’s top post after his predecessor, former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, stepped down in the wake of the deadly riot.
📝 Trump’s Jan. 6 pardons on his first day in office included:
Hundreds of supporters convicted of assaulting officers
Roughly 1,000 nonviolent offenders
Around 200 people accused of assaulting police with pending cases
🔁 A number of those pardoned have since been rearrested.
😔 Manger told MacFarlane that the day Trump issued the pardons was “probably one of my worst days in this job.”
“I think it sent a chilling message to every police officer in this country,” he said of the pardons.
“That you can be involved in some massive public disorder event and that you could have a politician later on decide that, well, I liked what this other — this side was doing, so we’re going to pardon all these people.”
🧢 He also hit back at conspiracy theories tied to the riot, some of which have been peddled by right-wing media figures and Republican lawmakers alike.

Wall Street investors have spotted one of president Donald Trump's tendencies and have started betting against him.
They've even come up with a derogatory term – "TACO," and acronym for "Trump Always Chickens Out" – for the president's erratic handling of his on-again, off-again tariffs, because they've noticed his tendency to announce punishing duties that send markets into the tank, only to back off a short time later and goose the market, reported HuffPost.
wrote Financial Times commentator Robert Armstrong, who is credited with coining the term earlier this month.
said University of Michigan economist Justin Wolfers.

"The recent rally has a lot to do with markets realizing that the U.S. administration does not have a very high tolerance for market and economic pressure, and will be quick to back off when tariffs cause pain,"
wrote Financial Times commentator Robert Armstrong, who is credited with coining the term earlier this month.
"This is the Taco theory: Trump Always Chickens Out."
“Under no previous presidency did we have active markets betting on the president’s resolve,”
said University of Michigan economist Justin Wolfers.
“There was no BACO trade, no CACO trade – nothing. It was always taken as a given that when the president spoke on Monday, he would likely still mean it on Tuesday. That’s no longer true. But what’s really hard is that it’s not even obvious when it’ll be true, and when it won’t be. Madness.”

RFK Jr. Floats Ban On Federal Scientists Publishing In Medical Journals
"They're all corrupt," Kennedy claimed of publications like The Lancet, the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Wednesday he’s planning to ban government scientists from publishing in established medical journals, which are some of the most important ways doctors spread knowledge and advance patient care.
Kennedy made the comments on the “Ultimate Human” podcast to host Gary Brecka, a fellow vaccine skeptic and anti-fluoride conspiracy theorist.
Kennedy claimed that the “medical cartel” has “transformed” the NIH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services into “sock puppets” for the pharmaceutical industry.
His remarks were made a week after the White House released a Kennedy-spearheaded report saying prescribed pharmaceuticals could be to blame for chronic disease in children.
