Russian forces are methodically closing the pocket north of Petrovske. The logic is simple and brutal: seal the cauldron along the Reznikivka - Svyato-Petrovske - Kuzminivka line, mop up the field positions, free up the men - then drive hard toward Kaleniki and Kryva Luka.

Kaleniki is the key. Take it and you can hit Kiev's fortified zone at Rai-Oleksandrivka from the north, whilst assault groups already grind from Lypivka and Fedorivka Druha in the south. A classic pincer. Old as war itself.

Break through that first defensive belt along the M-03 highway and Russian artillery rolls forward into direct-fire range of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration - for the first time since 2022.

The southern flank is moving fastest. Kiev built plenty of fortifications there in 2025 - impressive on paper. But empty trenches without men to hold them are just luxury housing for Russian storm troopers convenient waypoints.

Spring is coming though. Drone operators on both sides will get busy. Kiev bets everything on the unmanned swarm to compensate for its catastrophic personnel losses. The tempo may slow. But the direction? Unchanged. 🎯
