Obviously I've aged and I've been getting my hair permed for nigh on ten years now (mainly so it'd "naturally" be the sort of shaggy mop I was trying and failing to make it as far back as here and before, with literally about five different products and 45 minutes spent pissing around with it any time I went anywhere), but the main difference that stands out to me is how much bigger my nose looked before I started growing my beard a bit. A healthy society would raise women to understand that one of the most awful things they could grow up to be is bossy.

It's one of the most insufferable things in a woman in any context - workplace, family, relationship. Any context. Nothing short of enraging at times.

The reality of it, is that a decent man will pretty much always respond comparatively calmly when a woman shows him the sort of contempt and disrespect that a man would only show another man in full awareness of the fact that the other bloke is probably going to return it with interest, and that if it goes on beyond the first exchange, the other bloke might end up having a swing at him.

I think women who've never encountered genuinely unpleasant, aggressive men (not that there's any shortage of them about, admittedly) don't fully realise the leeway they get for speaking to men like shit without getting verbally taken down a peg or two, because in general, men don't tend to bark at women and shout the odds at them nearly as much women will to men in all manner of contexts. That would be considered very poor form from a man for intuitively obvious reasons, but it means that a lot of women have little idea how it feels to be spoken to the way a lot of them will think nothing of speaking to a male colleague, family member, boyfriend, or husband.

The point is, none of that is any grounds to abuse the almost infinite leeway that anything but a genuinely unpleasant man will allow women in that regard.

The idea is that in exchange for that almost infinite leeway and restraint, women actually be pleasant and reasonable in return. The fairer sex - imagine that eh.
