I let my subscription to a dating app lapse for a few weeks, then renewed it just over a week ago.

Reading bios while swiping through profiles and talking to a grand total of one woman for more than five minutes is enough to make me convinced that women have got noticeably worse in the few weeks I was away.

The negativity, jadedness, and disdain of bang average women in their profiles, and the demands and exclusions they feel entitled to reel off, are just laughable. Totally and utterly lost in their own self-importance. Most of them seem to wildly overestimate their own attractiveness as propositions.

To say nothing of the theoretically innocuous yet tiresome shit they all seem to say and seem to love.

I'm sure some of them wouldn't seem quite so bad if you met them in person, but Christ, they'd still only be tolerable for one thing in the case of those who were actually attractive enough. Which few are.

And then they wonder why they get used for that one thing by men they should know are out of their league. If they had any self-awareness or the humility to listen and engage in some introspection, it'd all make sense.

I suppose if you make women need men less as providers by encouraging them to have careers, and having a state that will step in with welfare when a poor choice of man knocks them up and fucks off, or give her half of everything plus child support when she decides she wants a divorce, and then bombard them with rom-coms, pornographic books, propaganda about their "worth", and access to the attention of millions of men, they quickly develop wildly unrealistic expectations, and at the same time become much less likeable and much less of what men would ideally want to commit to.

And when men no longer need marriage and serious relationships to satisfy their most basic urges, and when the penalties associated with divorce (usually initiated by women, and often for pathetic reasons) are so great, there's really not a lot in it for them.

Couple of other off the cuff observations about women. Firstly, it's under-discussed how lazy they often are in courtship and relationships.

Secondly, I don't know if this is as true of other men as it is in my case, but if it's even anywhere near, women have absolutely no idea how much men don't particularly like in day-to-day life about women/the women they're with, but keep to themselves for the sake of keeping the peace, not causing offence, and not making the perfect the enemy of the good (the latter especially seemingly being an alien concept to women).

As cringeworthy as the term is, "the ick" definitely isn't the sole prerogative of women.

TL;DR: The freer they are the less tolerable they become.
