BRITISH CITIZEN FOUND GUILTY: FOREIGN INTERFERENCE AND UNREST IN HONGKONG 🇭🇰

Chinese authorities have portrayed Lai as a key agitator behind the 2019 protests

Prosecutors in Hong Kong focused on Lai’s meetings between US officials, which they said pointed to his efforts to get the US to impose sanctions on officials in China and Hong Kong in order to bring down the Chinese Communist Party.

TRUMPS TARIFFS ON SICK; DISABLED & VULNERABLE

👉 Prices in the UK would rise
👉 NHS costs would increase
👉 Families would pay more for medicines, technology, fuels, etc.

TARIFFS ON THE THE NHS

If medicine prices rise sharply due to tariffs, reduced NHS budgets, or supply-chain cost pressure, lives can be lost.
Not immediately everywhere, but in several predictable, high-risk areas.

Let’s break it down step by step.

1️⃣ Pharmaceuticals are one of the UK’s largest imports from the United States

The UK relies heavily on the United States for:
• cancer drugs
• immunotherapy
• biologics
• rare-disease treatments
• anti-rejection transplant drugs
• ICU medicines
• medical devices and diagnostics

These are not luxury items.
They are life-sustaining.

If costs of these imports spike due to a 20% tariff increase, the NHS faces:
• higher procurement prices
• reduced supply
• delayed restocking
• budget pressure across all departments

When the NHS budget is fixed but costs rise, there is always a human impact.

2️⃣ Tariff costs do not stay in America — they cascade into foreign systems

When the U.S. raises tariffs:
• American manufacturers raise export prices
• Global buyers (including NHS suppliers) pay more
• UK importers pass this cost into NHS pricing
• NHS trusts must ration or delay medicines

This is not hypothetical.
This happens every time supply chains are hit with shocks.

3️⃣ Where people could realistically die (and why)

A. Cancer treatment delays

Many cutting-edge cancer drugs are American.
If they become unaffordable or rationed:
• treatments are delayed
• remission rates fall
• survival drops

Cancer outcomes are extremely sensitive to timing.

B. ICU and emergency medicine shortages

Critical ICU medicines are often imported:
• sedation drugs
• anaesthetics
• ventilator medications
• antibiotics
If these supplies tighten, NHS clinicians cannot sustain safe ICU levels.

C. Transplant patients

Anti-rejection drugs (many U.S.-made) must be taken continuously.
Even one missed dose can lead to organ rejection.

D. Rare disease and genetic conditions

These treatments are almost exclusively U.S.-made.
If budgets tighten, they are often the first to be rationed because they’re expensive.

E. Diabetes, heart disease, and chronic illness

Most insulin and many heart medications rely on global supply chains.
If component costs rise:
• prices rise
• shortages increase
• outcomes worsen
• mortality rises over time
