I don't know much about this coal chute. It's right smack dab in the middle of some of my favorite hunting grounds. Many of the posts are made of tree trunks and handmade nails. Its old. It's beautiful. It's a monument to the men that built our country.
Our destination today was an old rail bed for the mines from way back. It runs miles through the foothills of the Appalachians. One spot in particular has a shale bed that hosts lots of fossils. If anyone knows what these are (I'm aware of what they look like... lol), let me know.

There are more American whites in poverty than every other race combined. The poorest, most underfunded and depressed counties in America are in rural areas.
I grew up in a place like this. Everyone I knew came from a broken home and half of my friends growing up died from overdoses or ended up in jail. Hopeless situations that most never come out of.
This is part of what informs my worldview. Why I'm cynical about idealism. We're a demographic that has always been neglected.
The capitalists sent us into mines and the progressives demonize us and displace us with strangers.

Extreme heat and humidity killed thousands of cattle in Kansas this week so far. An estimated 10,000 heads of fat cattle dead.
Sorry for the lack of content, guys. I've been swamped at work and haven't had much time to get out for pics. I'll be posting some things on the coming food shortages with some of my thoughts and suggestions. Now is a good time to get out in nature for more than just admiration and fun. Watch what animals you see and where they normally are. Pay attention to what they eat. Observe and take notes. It may save your life
