I don't know much about this coal chute. It's right smack dab in the middle of some of my favorite hunting grounds. Many of the posts are made of tree trunks and handmade nails. Its old. It's beautiful. It's a monument to the men that built our country.
Our destination today was an old rail bed for the mines from way back. It runs miles through the foothills of the Appalachians. One spot in particular has a shale bed that hosts lots of fossils. If anyone knows what these are (I'm aware of what they look like... lol), let me know.
