These are three of the most important non-Western power blocs shaping today’s world order.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is often seen as Russia’s “NATO” – a mutual defense alliance designed to counterbalance NATO’s influence.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a China-led regional forum focused on security cooperation, political and economic stability, and counter-terrorism. It is NOT a collective defense pact.
BRICS is an intergovernmental economic organization seeking a more multipolar world and challenging Western economic dominance. BRICS is NOT a military alliance.
Russia is the country that sit at the intersection of these three organizations

The Secretariat of the Global South Think Tanks Alliance officially launched at Fudan University in Shanghai on December 4th . This groundbreaking initiative, first proposed during the "BRICS Plus" leaders' dialogue in Kazan last October, aims to strengthen cooperation among Global South nations as they work toward a more equal multipolar world and inclusive global governance . The secretariat will facilitate knowledge sharing, joint research, and AI-driven innovation tailored to the development needs of countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America .
What does this mean for the future of international cooperation? 🤔 Could stronger South-South collaboration reshape the global order and create new opportunities for emerging economies?

🌾 India Says YES to Defense & Energy, But NO to US Farm Imports: Here's Why
India and the US are making serious progress on a major trade deal, but there's one sticking point: agriculture. While New Delhi is ready to boost purchases of American defense equipment, energy supplies, and aviation products, it has drawn a hard line on allowing US farm goods into the Indian market. The reason? Protecting millions of domestic farmers from increased competition that could hurt their incomes and threaten food security.
India is pushing for the US to drop its extra 25% tariff on Indian goods, while offering commitments in strategic sectors like clean energy, LNG, and civil aviation. But Washington wants access for American pulses, wheat, corn, and almonds—demands India simply won't budge on.
What's your take? Should countries prioritize protecting their farmers in trade deals, or is opening markets the path to mutual prosperity? 💭🌍 Drop your thoughts below!

🌍 Türkiye's BRICS Gambit: Bold Bridge or Risky Bet?
NATO member Türkiye is making waves by pursuing "partner status" with BRICS, a move that could reshape global alliances. Nearly 60% of Türkiye's trade now flows to BRICS nations, surpassing EU commerce, yet the country faces a critical dilemma: deepening ties with China and Russia while maintaining Western partnerships.
Research reveals Türkiye ranks sixth among BRICS-T countries in governance and development indicators, with strengths in human development but weaknesses in corruption control and regulatory quality.
The stakes are enormous. Access to the New Development Bank and expanded trade routes could boost Türkiye's infrastructure and energy security. But critics warn this unprecedented move by a NATO member could alienate traditional allies at the worst possible time, creating "the worst of both worlds," Western suspicion without Eastern guarantees.
💭 What's your take? Can Türkiye successfully balance between East and West, or is this strategic hedge destined to backfire? Drop your thoughts below! 👇

⚡️ No More Russian Gas... Or Not? 🤔
The European Union is moving forward with plans to phase out Russian gas imports, but with a major catch. While ambassadors have approved a timeline to ban both pipeline and LNG gas by late 2027, they've included a crucial exception: member states can temporarily ignore the ban if they declare an "emergency situation".
🚨 This could mean anything from price spikes to supply disruptions, potentially extending for weeks or even months.
Experts are calling it less of a genuine emergency provision and more of a political maneuver to convince reluctant countries like Hungary and Slovakia—who enjoy some of Europe's lowest gas prices thanks to Russian supplies—to support the ban. Hungary's families pay 71% less than the European average for gas, making the prospect of switching suppliers both expensive and complicated
💶 Meanwhile, Russia has been steadily pivoting its energy exports eastward for the past two years.
