BRICS’ multipolar aspirations navigate asymmetries of power
The extraordinary virtual summit held on 8 September 2025 highlighted BRICS’ commitment to a multipolar world order while also shedding light on the power asymmetries that exist between members. Considering the diverging strategies that members bring to the bloc, it remains to be seen whether BRICS will be able to convert its aspirations into tangible outcomes for the evolving global order.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reiterated on Sunday, November 23, 2025, his country's full support of India's presidency of the BRICS in 2026, hoping of further economic and financial cooperation among member states.
The top diplomat made the remarks during his meeting with India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on the sidelines of G-20 meetings in South Africa.
The meeting tackled ways of boosting cooperation between the two countries in the trade, economic and investment domains.
Abdelatty called on the Indian companies to increase their investments in Egypt and capitalize on available investment privileges, especially within the Suez Canal economic zone.
