BNB/THE Weighted Pool Withdrawal Activation

We are pleased to announce the imminent deployment of a solution enabling users to withdraw their deposit amounts from the BNB/THE Weighted Pool.

A comprehensive post-mortem detailing the technical specifics of the issue will be provided in due course. In brief, an internal accounting error within the pool balance mechanism was identified, which, in some instances, resulted in users receiving a greater balance than their initial deposit.

This forthcoming release will facilitate the withdrawal of original deposits and the claiming of accrued $THE rewards. However, please be advised that any wallet identified as having exploited the aforementioned bug to illicitly obtain funds exceeding their deposited amount will be ineligible for deposit retrieval. Also note that My Value column might show an incorrect number for your deposit while you will be able to receive the correct amount when you press the Withdraw button.

Weighted Pool creation will be on pause until we redeploy the contracts with the fix.

We’ve applied a fix to address predatory farming practices in our concentrated liquidity pools, effective immediately.

This introduces a restriction on $THE earning pools during the first 10 minutes after entry. During this window, positions cannot be modified. This measure is designed to protect long-term participants and improve reward distribution.

For regular farmers, this results in higher and more consistent payouts across affected pools such as ETH/BNB.

As part of this update, only users farming $THE through ICHI strategies are asked to withdraw. This update does NOT affect THE Single Sided Vaults such as BTC/THE and ETH/THE.

You may also be prompted to approve the new farming center contract.

We are pleased to announce a series of technical updates designed to enhance the trading experience, improve data accuracy, and streamline our farming infrastructure.

1- Deployment of the THENA Router

The official THENA Router is now live at the following address: 0x146c3126932B6908DF8a4e8664f22082A97a0840

Our Swap module has been upgraded to provide a more robust price discovery engine. It now executes real-time comparisons across the ODOS aggregator, Liquidity Hub, and the THENA Router to ensure users consistently receive the most competitive pricing.

This integration allows for the immediate trading of new tokens as soon as liquidity pools are established, marking a pivotal milestone in our strategy to host upcoming token launches.

2- Enhanced Data Precision and Price Feeds

To provide our community with superior market insight, we have transitioned to a new service provider for our price feeds.

Previous interval: 1 hour

Current interval: 5 minutes

This upgrade ensures that our price charts reflect market movements with significantly higher granularity, allowing for more informed and accurate trading decisions.

3- Farming Center Implementation

Following our recent farming ecosystem update⁠, we have deployed a new Farming Center to fix a few APR display issues.

While no immediate migration is necessary, users manually farming $THE will be prompted to provide a one-time approval for the new Farming Center contract during their next interaction with the UI.

PS ICHI strategies are coming back very soon.

We appreciate your continued support as we build a more efficient and scalable ecosystem.

The following pairs will be removed from gauges after the epoch flip today. This means that you will no longer be able to vote for these pools starting from the next epoch.

You can still farm $THE until the following epoch next week if you are providing liquidity in one of these pools but you will need to withdraw afterwards. You can continue farming fees instead once the epoch flips next week.

Update on the Recent Events

At around 12PM UTC, our security systems flagged a high-severity incident involving the THE market on Venus Protocol. We immediately coordinated with all involved security partners and the Venus team to assess the situation.

We would like to inform that THENA is not directly affected by this exploit.

What You Need to Know:

1️⃣ THENA Smart Contracts are Safe: A malicious actor targeted the $THE market on Venus Protocol.

2️⃣ Protocol Integrity: Your funds and positions on THENA remain secure and are functioning normally.

3️⃣ Context of the Incident: More details will be provided with the post mortem. Our team is in constant communication with all the parties involved.

We take security seriously and will continue to monitor the situation closely. Thank you for your continued trust in THENA.

Over the past 2 days, there has been a lot of discussion, concern, and misinformation around $THE.

Let’s clarify what actually happened.

THENA was not exploited.

The incident originated from $THE market on Venus Protocol. Our own smart contracts and liquidity pools remain safe and operational.

We had been monitoring suspicious accumulation patterns for months and shared observations with security and protocol partners as early as 2025. Venus was always a potential risk surface. We also worked closely with zeroShadow and Hypernative, who helped flag early signals and coordinate with relevant parties, including law enforcement.

While market conditions and liquidity can influence price dynamics during extreme events, the root cause of this incident was a known architectural gap in Venus’s supply cap enforcement, previously identified but not remediated.

No one could predict how, if, or when an event like this would occur. But we were watching closely and ready to respond.

So what’s next?

1. Later today $THE Single Sided Vaults will see a large increase in APR, driven by fees generated during the incident. These update weekly on Tuesdays.

2. This Epoch’s voters will see outsized returns following the extreme volatility on Sunday.

We’re also planning to shed a bit more light on what THE future looks like.

Yes, it’s a challenging time, but we’re doing everything we can to push through and remedy the situation.
