Here's how local AZ Media is approaching the release from Cyber Ninjas currently. This one is from one of my #AZAuditPool favorites, the one and only #BluePenJen

For those of you unaware, here's how she got the moniker #BluePenJen. Jen applied to be an official observer on the floor of the Audit, because press was not going to be allowed on the floor. She got in the first day, April 23 when the floor volunteers were doing live on the floor training (vs classroom they'd done previously). Jen spotted an observer with a blue pen on the floor. Blue pens were not allowed on the floor as only blue or black pens can be used to mark ballots. Jen, somehow had her phone with her on the floor, which was against security rules, but managed a multiple tweet thread describing what she saw. She brought the issue of the blue pen to Doug Logan (Cyber Ninja CEO) attention, and they were removed and replaced with red and green pens within an hour.

Now...that seems pretty nebulous doesn't it? No real ballots were on the floor it was a training exercise day, dress rehearsal with test ballots if you will. However, that same day at 11am, was a very important hearing in the lawsuit the DNC had filed to stop the Audit. Jen reported the blue pen issue about 20 minutes prior to the beginning of that hearing. As you might imagine, guess what the attorney representing the DNC brought up immediately as an example of poor security and lack of professionalism? Blue pens.

Fortunately, the Judge's ruling eventually allowed the Audit to proceed even after an attempt to stall it over the initial weekend due to other security issues. What were those issues? I'm glad you asked. Other reporters who applied and were in the building as "observers" were propping open exterior doors, allowing even more reporters inside, and then reporting those as security breaches. This was just in the first day, which as I said was a practice run with no actual ballots on the floor. Needless to say, that's why from that point on the press had special seats up in the press box of the Coliseum. Where they proceeded to complain about the distance for the weeks to come.

Anyway...that's why she's #BluePenJen something she says she's rather proud of. I don't doubt that for a moment. After all when your "reporting" gets you on Maddow, it's $$$. Right?
