Iβve spent the last 24 hours finishing two projects that I had a lot of trouble with. I put them aside for several weeks to work on other things until my patience returned.
The first is a small evening handbag on a metal frame. The fabrics and the zipper are thrifted while the frame is new. Just big enough for the items you need on your date night. The purse has to be hand stitched to the frame and I donβt like doing that so I kept putting it off.
The second is a medium-sized carpet bag, also made from thrifted fabrics. I made several mistakes on this, but decided in the end that the mistakes make it look more βseasonedβ. π€ (Donβt stream your fabric without testing a piece first!)
These styles of fabrics remind me of my grandmother (your great-grandmothers, because youβre probably half my age). Iβm attracted to the vintage, handmade, Victorian looking fabrics.
I like to think that I saved these materials from being forgotten and made them into items that someone will love and use.

Handwoven Shawl/Small Blanket inspired by wild daffodils we find near old homesites as we walk the woods in springtime. Rich greens, nutty browns and gold are the colors found in this one. Tabby weave offers a very soft drape to this lightweight textile.
Approximately 6 feet long and 2.5 feet wide. Washed, carefully finished and ready to enjoy.
Hand loomed with quality, natural wool yarns.

I have been a little less active on here, taking a bit of a breather between markets and working on personal projects as well as experimenting on bringing ideas to life and continuing to prepare inventory.
Today I am happy to share with you one of my latest. Chainmail flowers, white moonstone and irregular natural freshwater pearls. These were designed with the delicate yet resilient nature of what I feel it means to be a woman in mind. I will make a very limited amount of these in different stones but all keeping within the pale / white tones alongside silver.
