It's now only SIX WEEKS until we kick off the summer freedom festival season with the best value event of the year, this time with added dance and conscious rap tents as well as the live stage. This year we will also be offering some excellent (free!) morning workshops along with the usual brilliant activities for the children, delicious food courtesy of our fabulous selection of food vendors and once again, a really great variety of stalls. There is a very low-priced return coach being laid on from London for those who don't fancy driving themselves; don't let distance be a hindrance when you can sit back, relax and chill with your extended freedom family on your journey! Campervans are welcome too (no extra charges) and for anyone who is more of a glamper than a camper there is the option of hiring a beautiful bell tent (furnished or unfurnished) for the 3 nights. But how many people actually understand what’s being proposed?
No major disability organisation supports it. Many oppose it. Yet it’s being framed as a choice, a freedom. But what about coercion? What about vulnerable people at the end of their lives being nudged toward an irreversible decision?
In 2020, we were told to protect the elderly at all costs. Now? We're debating whether helping them die should be legal.
Let’s start having the real conversations. Young people need to talk about this — before decisions are made for us, not by us.
