"What is Nano-MIND?

Nano-MIND stands for Magnetogenetic Interface for NeuroDynamics. It’s a new technology that allows scientists to control specific parts of the brain 👉 wirelessly using magnetic fields and genetically engineered neural receptors.

This technology can 💥🤯 control emotions, behaviors, and motivations by targeting specific neural circuits. For example, it can make non-maternal mice behave like maternal ones by activating certain brain regions, or it can affect feeding behavior, either increasing or decreasing appetite in mice. It works by using:

• Magnetic Fields: Magnetic fields are used because they can safely pass through the body without harming it.

• Magnetized Nanoparticles: Tiny particles that respond to magnetic fields are introduced into the brain.

• Magnetoreceptors: These nanoparticles attach to specific neurons (brain cells) thanks to special receptors genetically engineered by scientists.

• Activation: When the magnetic field is applied, it can selectively activate or deactivate these specific neurons...."
