She didn't pick that name because she liked the way it sounds. No, Ladson was as much her family as Albrecht. The two houses had been linked in blood since 1902.
The Ladsons were a family of slave traders, plantation owners and cotton merchants who had moved to South Carolina from Barbados.

At one time, the Ladsons were the most prolific slave traders in the United States, and they used all the money they earned to buy themselves a considerable amount of power. James Henry Ladson was the Lt. Governor and Senator for South Carolina from 1794-1804. His son, also named James Henry Ladson (Anglo freaks tend to be pretty inbred, so I doubt they could come with anything better) was a Confederate officer.
This is because James the second was a fanatical proponent of secession. He viewed it as his holy duty to convert all his slaves to Christianity to ensure order on his massive plantation.
The religious and moral instruction of the negroes has, for several years, been a subject of great interest to me, and I am satisfied that our exertions in their behalf (although much, very much, yet remains to be done) are not only misunderstood abroad, but unappreciated. To improve the negro is a far more arduous task than many, who have no experience in teaching them, are aware. They are naturally dull, and of a weak intellect, but generally possessing good memories; and those who have been engaged in this work of charity, have to lament, after much labour, that the instruction they have endeavoured to give, although remembered, has been perverted and misdirected.- James H. Ladson, "The Religious Instruction of the Negroes"
Needless to say, this "improvement" was carried out with the same sort of zeal that the Albrechts would later use in Germany.
Well, NATO is discussing F-16s now.
When it comes to Ursula's family in Barbados, let me quote from the account of father Antione Biet: “They treat their Negro slaves with a great deal of severity. If some go beyond the limits of the plantation on a Sunday they are given fifty blows with a cudgel; these often bruise them severely. If they commit some other slightly more serious offense they are beaten to excess, sometimes up to the point of applying a firebrand all over their bodies which makes them shriek with despair. I saw a poor Negro woman, perhaps thirty-five or forty years old, whose body was full of scars which she claimed had been caused by her master’s having applied the fire-brand to her: this horrified me. As these poor unfortunates are very badly fed, a few occasionally escape during the night and go to steal a pig or something similar from a neighbouring plantation. But, if they are discovered, there is no forgiving them. One day I went to visit my Irishman. He had in irons one of these poor Negroes who had stolen a pig. Every day, his hands in irons, the overseer had him whipped by the other Negroes until he was all covered with blood. The overseer, after having had him treated thus for seven or eight days, cut off one of his ears, had it roasted, and forced him to eat it.”

⚫️ Jenin Brigade (PIJ):

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful
"And do not think that those who have been killed in the cause of Allah are dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord and being provided for."

With great pride, Saraya Al-Quds - Jenin Brigade, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine and the Burqin Group, present a group of its heroic fighters, namely: the martyr leader Muhammad Mahmoud Sobh, the martyr Muhammad Sami Ghoneim and the martyr Noor Sami Ghoneim, from the fighters of the Burqin groups that had extensive experience in the field of resistance and jihad.

The zionist occupation forces, at exactly 7:00 am today, Thursday, January 26, 2023, stormed the steadfast Jenin camp, besieged a house, where inside it was a group of our heroic fighters who confronted the criminal occupation forces, which then bombed the house with missiles and explosives, this led to the martyrdom of a group of our mujahideen and heroic fighters from Saraya Al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

Our fighters in the Jenin Brigade and our resistant people confronted the occupation forces and its special forces units on more than one axis (The neighborhood of Al-Hawashin, Jouret Al-Dahab and Al-Saha) from the first moment, and a fierce battle took place in which our fighters used explosive devices, guided bombs, and bullets, which led to certain injuries among the occupation forces. 6 military jeeps and a truck carrying the special forces were damaged.

Our victorious brigade was also able to shoot down a drone used by the occupation forces in filming and dropping bombs on our people, which has become in the hands of the fighters of the Jenin Brigade and is being checked by our security forces.

We mourn the heroic martyrs of our people who rose to the skies this morning, and they are:

Martyr Abdullah Marwan Al-Ghoul, 18 years old
Martyr Moatasem Mahmoud Abu Al-Hassan, 40 years old
Martyr Wassim Amjad Aref Al-Jaas, 22 years old
Martyr Noureddine Sami Ghoneim, 25 years old
Martyr Muhammad Sami Ghoneim, 28 years old
Martyr Muhammad Mahmoud Sobh, 30 years old
Martyr Saeb Essam Zreiki, 24 years old
Martyr Ezz El-Din Yassin Salahat, 22 years old
Martyr Magda Obaid, 61 years old

The sons of our free people have proven again in the Jenin camp that they are the best support and are supporter of our resistance. They presented the most wonderful signs of steadfastness, sacrifice and giving, and the best support for us in the field, who were subjected to various types of terrorism at the hands of the criminal occupation forces.

Our patient people in Jenin and its camp, who are our glory, our consolation, and the crown of our heads, we promise them and God Almighty, that we will not be destroyed, we will not resign, and we will not waste a single drop of blood that fell on the soil of the beloved camp, and we will remain loyal to the blood of the martyrs, and we will avenge them with all our strength, honor and will.

Our message is to the criminal occupation, which is well aware of the valiant resistance it was subjected to, written by the heroes of our people and our battalion. Its escalating crimes will turn on it as fire and hell, and it will enjoy neither security nor safety on our land. We promise you, O enemy, that we will remain a thorn in your throat, and that Saraya Al-Quds and its victorious brigades will remain. From Jenin to Nablus, Tubas, Qabatiya, Jaba’, Burqin, Ramallah and Al-Khalil, we are on the lookout wherever your soldiers and settlers are.

Mercy for the martyrs, healing for the wounded, and freedom for the prisoners.

Our guns are open and our struggle is continuous.

And it is for jihad, victory or martyrdom.

She prayed the dawn prayer, picked up the Holy Qur’an, and started reading its verses. Then she closed her eyes gently and kissed the Qur'an and set it aside, raised her palms to the sky and prayed from the bottom of her heart for the fighters, for the camp and for Palestine.

She then heard the sounds of bullets and intensified her prayers. She stood up when she realized that something was happening near her, and as soon as she stood up, the sniper's bullet settled in her neck, she fell to the ground, and her blood splattered.

Her daughter came to the room after she heard the sound of the crash. She was shocked by the sight of her mother, who looked at her and then uttered the Shahada, raising her forefinger.

This is how Majida Obaid ascended. This is how the grandmother Umm Ziyad ascended to martyrdom.
