Now this is interesting. Reznikov is a major figure in Ukraine. Keep in mind that there is no political opposition to go after him. Ukraine is essentially a one party state when it comes to the actual levers of power. So this means either America wants him gone, or someone inside his own government does.
Catering? Please. Penny ante bullshit. I guarantee every politician in Ukraine is doing MUCH worse.
The fact that he is being prosecuted and these stories are going to press is MAJOR.
I am not saying the man isn't stealing, I am sure he is. But when everyone is stealing, you look at who is prosecuted.
This theft is minor compared to everyone else, so why him?
It's coming from the national anti-corruption bureau, so maybe we can see who holds their strings.
The establishment of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau was one of the requirements set by the IMF and the the European Commission for relaxation of visa restrictions between Ukraine and the European Union.
