Stop telling people that their trauma made them stronger. Any strength survivors gain was gained despite the trauma, not because of it. Don't ever credit abusers for the recovery and resilience of their victims. Don't paint trauma out to be a necessary stepping stone towards becoming a strong person when it's far more likely to make you stumble and fall on your face.
