The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed strict restrictions on Paytm Payments Bank, preventing it from offering several banking services, including accepting fresh deposits and credit transactions. This follows an earlier order by the RBI in 2022, directing Paytm Payments Bank to halt the acceptance of new customer accounts. Customers can still use the money in their accounts freely, but the restrictions will affect the bank's ability to provide certain services. The RBI cited non-compliance issues as the reason for its action.
