UPI payments become even quicker starting today in India.

Transaction time has been reduced from 30 seconds to 15 seconds.

🔧 What’s Changed?

NPCI has reduced the response time for several key UPI services:

- Sending or receiving money: Now takes 15 seconds, down from 30 seconds.

- Checking transaction status: Reduced from 30 seconds to 10 seconds.

- Reversing failed transactions: Also cut to 10 seconds.

- Validating UPI addresses (Pay/Collect): Now just 10 seconds, down from 15.

📅 What’s Next?

More enhancements are coming in July and August, including:

- Limits on balance checks (50 per day).

- Streamlined auto-pay mandates (1 attempt + 3 retries, outside peak hours).

- Monitoring of API traffic to avoid overloads.
