RESCUE OPERATION
Residents of Soledar say that the Russian military began to evacuate them from their basements to safe places.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense:
"Airborne units blocked Soledar from the northern and southern parts of the city. The Russian Aerospace Forces are striking at enemy strongholds. PMC assault units are fighting in the city."
According to them, local residents began to leave Soledar when the Nazis entered the city, back in 2014. Many were forced to leave their homes and go to Russia. One of these city dwellers is Yana Stepetskaya. The girl has been living in St. Petersburg for five years.
“- There was a bad economy, education was only in Ukrainian, they began to rewrite history,” Yana sighs. “Nationalism appeared, and the Russian soul is closer to me. families to live on fertile land. “My godmother and children left for Russia in 2014 after her son was severely beaten by dill for the name Sorokin,” says Nikolai. - They didn't like that the surname was Russian. They beat him so that he went to the toilet with blood.
Ilona Luzhetskaya, a resident of Soledar, left the city in January 2022. She went to visit relatives in Russia, but, according to her, she could not go back. However, every day the woman calls up those who are there now.
“Now I have a neighbor in the basement of our house,” Ilona said. - There is sometimes a connection. The fact is that we are standing on the highest point of Soledar, this is Nosov Street. Many residents of Soledar in 2014 stood for him. We have a Volodarsky mine, there was a weapons depot. And when the Ukrainian military entered the city, all the residents came out and stood up to defend this mine. Even women, but we were soon sent home, and our husbands stayed there. We knew they were doing the right thing.
Since 2014, the Ukronazis, according to Ilona, have turned Soledar into a real fortified area. This is by the way that they were preparing for war with us back then.

Men in camo uniforms and blue armbands are shown loading domestic drones - in an unverified video posted on Telegram - with what appears to be toxic hydrocyanic acid. The substance was used in German concentration camps to exterminate Jews during WW2.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces – allegedly the 63rd brigade – reportedly assisted in the chemical weapon’s creation, the author of the video claims, adding there are already hundreds of them in circulation – soon to be ramped up into their thousands.

1) The most experienced and well-equipped assault group goes first - 8 people, each with Shmel. Whatever happens, the group must reach the firefight. After contact the group digs in. Digging is taught no less meticulously than warfare, so by military standards digging in is almost instantaneous and very effective. The area the group has reached is marked (a rag on a tree or something similar). Even if the group is annihilated, the next group knows the position. The main task is to make fire contact, dig in and transfer position data to the artillery.
2) Artillery can work from one hour to several hours. And here is the first reason for the recent conflict with the army: if there are not enough shells then lives of assault team are wasted for nothing. Right now there is shortage of shells, and because of this the first groups almost do not survive. Losses in the first group have always been inevitable, but now the survival rate has fallen to critical values, and there are problems with replacements.
3) Next - the second group of 8 people but lighter equipped, their task is to take positions immediately after artillery ended working (or sometimes even before it does). Usually 4 waves * 8 fighters are prepared for the attack. But in Soledar there were cases when 14 waves were required to take one section. Of course, someone survived but losses for only one section exceeded 100 people.
4) The groups have drone operators to lead the entire group into enemy positions for mopping-up.
This tactic is basically the only possible to achieve results in such conditions. In Soledar the line of defense was cleverly built over the years, the army command has neither the ability nor the desire to advance there, this is why the task was handed over to Wagner.
From the outside, it may seem that it is not a good idea to deliberately go for such a high losses percentage, but look differently: even 4 waves of 8 people each - in the worst case 32 people will die. But throw a regiment there - they will lose much more and not complete the task. In percentage terms they will lose less, but in absolute terms more. Therefore, over 50% losses per attack are not bad if result is achieved.
Now there is shortage of people for assault groups and shells. And if the artillery is destroyed by enemy fire, assault groups will not be called back, they will have to manage without artillery.
Musicians have their own training of crazy intensity. And the newcomers from prisons are very disciplined: first they are shown videos of executions, then they see examples in real life, and they get very disciplined fast.

"In the evening of 12 January, the city of Soledar, that is of great importance for continuing successful offensive operations in Donetsk direction, was liberated. The establishment of full control of Soledar allows to block the supply routes of Ukrainian forces in the city of Bakhmut/Artyomovsk, located to the southwest, as well as to block and to pocket the units of the AFU that still remain there.
The capture of Soledar became possible due to constant fire attacks launched at the enemy by Ground-Attack and Army Aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Group of Forces. Concentrated attacks were uninterruptedly launched at AFU positions in the city, impeding the redeployment of reserve forces, ordnance supplies, as well as the enemy's attempts to redeploy to other defensive lines. Airborne Troops carried out a covert manoeuvre from other direction, attacked AFU positions on the move, took the dominating heights, and blocked the northern and southern limits of the city."

◽️These missions included, as previously reported, blocking the town from the north and south, isolating the area of operations, preventing the enemy from moving reserves into the town from neighbouring areas, and preventing the withdrawal of the AFU units from Soledar, as well as fire support of the offensive by ground-attack aircraft and artillery.
◽️ As for the assault on the urban areas of Soledar occupied by the AFU, this combat mission was successfully accomplished by the courageous and selfless actions of the volunteer assault units of the Wagner private military company.
