RESCUE OPERATION
Residents of Soledar say that the Russian military began to evacuate them from their basements to safe places.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense:
"Airborne units blocked Soledar from the northern and southern parts of the city. The Russian Aerospace Forces are striking at enemy strongholds. PMC assault units are fighting in the city."

According to them, local residents began to leave Soledar when the Nazis entered the city, back in 2014. Many were forced to leave their homes and go to Russia. One of these city dwellers is Yana Stepetskaya. The girl has been living in St. Petersburg for five years.

Another native of Soledar, Nikolai Kosenkov, now lives in the Moscow region. His whole family also moved to Russia.

“My godmother and children left for Russia in 2014 after her son was severely beaten by dill for the name Sorokin,” says Nikolai. - They didn't like that the surname was Russian. They beat him so that he went to the toilet with blood.

Ilona Luzhetskaya, a resident of Soledar, left the city in January 2022. She went to visit relatives in Russia, but, according to her, she could not go back. However, every day the woman calls up those who are there now.

“Now I have a neighbor in the basement of our house,” Ilona said. - There is sometimes a connection. The fact is that we are standing on the highest point of Soledar, this is Nosov Street. And when the Ukrainian military entered the city, all the residents came out and stood up to defend this mine. Even women, but we were soon sent home, and our husbands stayed there. We knew they were doing the right thing.

Since 2014, the Ukronazis, according to Ilona, have turned Soledar into a real fortified area. This is by the way that they were preparing for war with us back then.

- There is such a defense! Our city of 11 thousand people can be walked in 40 minutes. But it’s all dug up, ”Luzhetskaya shares. - Why did the military break through there for so long, because there are minefields and trenches everywhere, which have been prepared since 2014. According to them, the residents of Soledar had a hard time during the stay of the Ukronazis there.
- They will come, pick up vodka with sausage and scoff, - Ilona sighs. - And they deducted 30 percent from my salary for them. I received only 4,000 hryvnias while working as a postman, and they received 30,000 hryvnias each.

- The occupying government abandoned us, the mayor fled back in April. People were afraid to go outside, but now the Russians have entered the city, they have begun to evacuate people to the nearest settlements, where it is safe. There are even lists of those who were taken away, - Ilona shares. “Before that, the Ukrainian military came to the basements, they forced the locals to collect the corpses of the murdered Ukronazis.
