And I am writing this to the fact that no political or other human reason is the real reason in this war. Is it scary that we are physically eliminating ourselves on the fields of this war? Fearfully. I have no hatred for Ukrainians - only the pain of realizing that we - the people - have once again come to this. But even more terrible is what we have slowly turned into in recent decades. Faster than physical death, we were killed by spiritual degradation, when the European Union and lace panties became more important than blood ties when it comes to Ukraine, and when the land given to us by God ceased to be perceived as a valuable gift and heritage, but became just a carcass that needs to be gutted .

In this state of ours, there is only war. She will either kill us or give us a chance to be reborn. It's like a surgical operation, like amputation of a gangrenous limb, like removing a tumor - pain in the name of salvation. This is not just a push for political transformation within the country - this is our last chance to understand who we are and why. Merry Christmas! - Now in this holiday there are much more shades than usual..."

Мы системно и последовательно уничтожаем остатки собственного генофонда. Украина гордится своими достижениями, помощью запада, проделанными в направлении Евросоюза и НАТО шагами - и как безумный, обвешанный пустыми консервными банками, мчится к обрыву, не осознавая своих последних дней. К чему я это пишу? Я что, вдруг прозрел и возроптал против войны? Война понимается мной по-толстовски - строго и серьёзно, как страшная необходимость. А пишу я это к тому, что никакая политическая или иная человеческая причина не является в этой войне настоящей причиной. Страшно, что мы сами себя устраняем физически на полях этой войны? Страшно. У меня нет ненависти к украинцам - только боль от осознания того, что мы - люди - в очередной раз докатились до этого. Но ещё страшнее то, во что мы медленно превращались в последние десятилетия. Быстрее, чем физическая смерть, нас убивала духовная деградация, когда Евросоюз и кружевные трусики стали важнее кровных уз, если речь идёт об Украине, и когда земля, данная нам Богом, перестала восприниматься ценным даром и наследием, а стала просто тушей, которую нужно выпотрошить.

При таком нашем состоянии - только война. Она либо нас убьёт, либо даст нам шанс возродиться. Это как хирургическая операция, как ампутация гангренной конечности, как удаление опухоли - боль во имя спасения. Это не просто толчок к политическим преобразованиям внутри страны - это наш последний шанс понять, кто мы и зачем. С наступающим Рождеством! - Сейчас в этом празднике оттенков гораздо больше, чем обычно.

If you want to be well enough informed to be qualified to have an opinion, you should listen to people who are qualified to have an opinion themselves. What qualifies someone to have an opinion on the subject? How about a long-running professional familiarity with the subject, up close and personal. Someone whose life literally depends on the correctness of their analysis is also likely to put a lot of effort into seeing reality as it truly is. Someone who has taken risks and made sacrifices to get firsthand info from those directly involved. People who take the subject seriously enough to speak truth about it, whether or not the truth is popular or pleasant. These kinds of people are qualified to have an opinion, and are worthy of your attention and respect.

We both felt that this was the last opportunity to defend Orthodoxy. We understood that renting and owning are two different things. If the monasteries and temples of the UOC are transferred into ownership, then it will be extremely difficult to take them away. We asked, pressed, even intrigued, collected signatures - it did not help. Rested. Yanukovych said that this issue would cause negative public opinion. Now Yanukovych is in Moscow or Sochi. I also went to church today. Very pious.

How many trade and political negotiations and agreements have there been between Russia and Ukraine. Countless. They shared money, gas and oil, property. But not once, I repeat, not once has Russia raised the question of the status of the Russian language or the question of the status of Orthodox Lavras in response to a request for a discount or installment payments. They shared money. But they did not think about faith, about compatriots. Now we have what we have.

Children and faith are the most important things in our life. Imagine a terminally ill child when the parents realize how the illness will end. But the child himself does not know, because he is small and relies on his parents. And you, parents, need to find the strength in yourself and go through this path to the end, knowing how it will end.

Посмотрите, сколько было президентов на Украине. Все истово верующие. Все посещали Киевскую Лавру. Все молились. Давали деньги на церковь. Конечно, на православную церковь Московского Патриархата. Она же основная. Все. Может, за исключением Ющенко, правда, уже не помню, кому он молился. Но никто, подчеркну, никто из президентов не отдал Лавры в собственность церкви.

На Украине три Лавры, три православных монастыря: Киево-Печерская лавра, Почаевско-Успенская лавра, Святогорская Успенская лавра. Они были забраны большевиками в собственность государства, и УПЦ (Украинская православная церковь Московского патриархата) их арендовала у государства.

В 2013 году небольшая группа депутатов, в которую я входил, поставила перед собой задачу повлиять на Януковича, чтобы он передал Лавры в собственность УПЦ. Мы как чувствовали, что это последняя возможность защитить православие. Мы понимали, что арендовать и владеть — это разные вещи. Если передать в собственность монастыри и храмы УПЦ, то забрать их будет крайне сложно. Мы просили, давили, даже интриговали, собирали подписи — не помогло. Упёрся. Янукович сказал, что этот вопрос вызовет негатив в обществе. Теперь Янукович в Москве или Сочи. Тоже, небось, сегодня пошёл в церковь. Очень набожный.

Сколько было торговых и политических переговоров и договоренностей между Россией и Украиной. Несчетное количество. Делили деньги, газ и нефть, собственность. Но ни разу, повторяюсь, ни разу Россия не поставила вопрос статуса русского языка или вопрос статуса православных Лавр в ответ на просьбу дать скидку или рассрочку в платежах. Делили деньги. Но о вере, о соотечественниках не подумали. Теперь имеем то, что имеем.

У меня сердце и душа болит за мою малую Родину, за верующих людей. За тех, кто не предаст и не сломается. Православие — это же часть души, часть очень личного. Дети и вера — это самое важное в нашей жизни. Представьте неизлечимо больного ребёнка, когда родители понимают, чем кончится болезнь. Но сам ребенок не знает, потому что он маленький и надеется на родителей. И вам, родителям, надо найти в себе силы и пройти этот путь до конца, зная, чем он завершится.

Так и с православием. Начиная с 2015 года я писал докладные записки о том, к чему это идёт. Писал статьи, желающие могут их найти. Предупреждал, что так будет, пытался достучаться. Тогда ещё были варианты. Причём не один. Сейчас их почти нет. С нашей верой на Украине, как с больным ребёнком. Знаешь, чем все закончится. Но надо пройти этот путь до конца. Не хожу в церковь, но молюсь за православных Украины. За тех из них, кто не сдастся и не предаст.
