“A successful strike on the permanent base of one of the elite Ukrainian units of the Special Forces on New Year's Eve leaves a very ambivalent feeling. The problem with strikes against permanent deployment points is that the war was supposed to start from them, units were supposed to be destroyed in them before they left. What did we expect from the Ukrainian special forces, whom we "spare"? Enlightenment, a sharp transition to our side?

In addition, there is a photo where the military and the Ministry of Emergency Situations sort out the rubble and work at the facility after the strike. Accordingly, where are the next blows? The enemy regularly shows how much repeated strikes, going until the complete destruction of the target, increase efficiency. Why don't we have such tactics when it comes to a military facility? With power supply facilities, everything is clear - if the transformer oil and wiring caught fire there, then success has already been achieved, even though there is no carcass.

But things are different with military installations - they must be completely destroyed, along with equipment, communication systems and evacuation groups. That is when the effect is maximum.

On New Year's Eve, the already overstrained personnel, after a strike on the RPM, sharply rises in alarm to save equipment and people, the defense and the police are trying to help them, assess the place ... Let them hide from repeated strikes. Let them freeze nearby in shelters, not daring to raise their heads for a day or two. Let even those who were not hit by fragments gradually collapse from fatigue. Until there is smooth gravel in place of the RPM, from under which there is no one to dig out.

In addition, such strikes greatly overstrain the air defense, it is necessary to increase its number, to divert resources to the air defense, including from the front line. This was the case, for example, during the Allied bombing of Germany during WWII. These strikes made it necessary to sharply increase the number of interceptors, anti-aircraft artillery and personnel. And, although the German industry continued to increase the number of products, the very range of weapons has changed. For example, the total number of aircraft produced grew, but the number of strike aircraft fell, which quickly became noticeable at the front, including Vostochny.

This is not an exercise where after a hit they give an assessment. And even during the exercises, you can hear the cries of the commanders "do not stop, work on the goal to the end!".

This is not the first case when the maximum effect is not taken out of successful strikes precisely because of the lack of repeated attacks to completely destroy the target. I would very much like to see in the future bringing such shelling to its logical conclusion. Of course, it is possible to fight in white gloves, but still it is difficult. They get dirty…”
