"does not want any confrontation with Israel in Syria," after repeated Israeli attacks on military sites there undermined the new Syrian government's ability to deter threats.

"Israel's actions in Syria are paving the way for future instability in the region"

"If the new administration in Damascus wants to reach certain understandings with Israel, that's its own business," Fidan said

Asked about US President Donald Trump's threats to launch military strikes on Iran, Fidan said that "diplomacy is necessary" to resolve the conflict, and made clear that Ankara does not want to see any attack on its neighbor.

Turkey said that the Israeli aggression on Gaza amounts to genocide against the Palestinians, and applied to join a lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice and suspended all trade with it.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that the provocative statements made by Israeli ministers toward Türkiye reflect what it called the aggressive nd expansionist policies pursued by their fundamentalist and racist government.
