So the police officer was going around the market, making sure that flour was being sold for 50 shekels (or secure the aid story on unclear) and people weren’t being extorted, something unknown happened and a brawl broke out, the officer opened fire to try and disperse the people (common tactic) a young man was accidentally killed.

Statement issued by the Deir al-Balah clans and families regarding the murder of Police Assistant (A. N.)*
With hearts filled with pain and sorrow, and with a high sense of national and social responsibility, the Deir al-Balah clans and families condemn the heinous crime that claimed the life of our virtuous son, Police Assistant (A. N.), who was treacherously targeted while performing his national duty of providing humanitarian aid and flour to honorable citizens amid the difficult circumstances facing our Palestinian people.
This heinous crime occurred after police officers fired warning shots in the air to secure the aid and flour. An unintended mistake resulted in the injury of a citizen from the (S.) family, resulting in his death—a painful incident for which we pray to God to have mercy on the deceased. However, some outlaws took advantage of the situation to carry out a sinful attack, lying in wait for the murdered police assistant and brutally shooting him, leading to his martyrdom.
While we condemn this heinous crime, we demand that the security and judicial authorities assume their full responsibilities and strike with an iron fist against anyone who attempts to tamper with the security of the Gaza Strip and exploit the difficult conditions our people are experiencing under the aggression and blockade.
We also call on everyone to exercise self-restraint and refrain from being drawn into chaos. We affirm that justice will take its course, and criminals will not be allowed to escape punishment. The security of Deir al-Balah and its people, and that of the entire Gaza Strip, is a red line, and we will not accept, under any circumstances, the targeting of security personnel who ensure the comfort and protection of citizens.
We call on all rational and wise people in our society to stand united in confronting anyone who would dare to tamper with the stability and security of our people. We call on the competent authorities to take strict and urgent measures against the perpetrators before it is too late.
May God have mercy on the martyrs of duty, protect the blood of the innocent, and preserve Gaza and its people from all evil.

This is the fifth incident since the renewed fighting in Gaza, in which a ballistic missile fired by the Houthis has landed on the way. This is in addition to nine other missiles that triggered air raid sirens in the center of the country.
