Field commanders knew that civilians in Gaza were being used as human shields for more than a year and did not take action.

Almost every platoon in Gaza maintains a human shield, and no infantry force enters a house before the human shield searches it.

We used the people of Gaza as human shields not to protect our soldiers, but because it was faster than sending a robot or a drone.

A human shield is sometimes sent to homes to set them on fire or blow them up, and this has nothing to do with security.

The use of Gaza residents as human shields is a daily practice and much more common than the public is told.

We have every reason to be concerned about international courts because of our use of the people of Gaza as human shields.
