I served in Gaza for 9 months and witnessed the use of civilians as human shields in December 2023 under the name of the Mosquito Protocol.
Field commanders knew that civilians in Gaza were being used as human shields for more than a year and did nothing.
Almost every platoon in Gaza maintains a human shield, and no infantry force enters a house before the human shield searches it.

Press release
Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemns in the strongest terms the heinous crime committed by the Zionist occupation army in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah, where the bodies of fourteen martyrs were found: six members of the civil defense crews and eight paramedics from the Palestinian Red Crescent, who had been missing for days. They were found handcuffed and buried in a single hole.
This crime constitutes the largest mass targeting and deliberate killing of ambulance crews, and confirms that we are facing a criminal, sadistic enemy that denies all human values and disregards international law, international humanitarian law, and the Geneva Conventions, which guarantee the protection of medical relief and civil defense personnel during conflicts.
The criminal Zionist enemy continues to commit the most heinous crimes during its brutal war of extermination against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, systematically and blatantly violating all laws and regulations, relying on a shameful international silence and political and military cover from the US administration, which is complicit in these crimes.
In the face of this unprecedented brutal crime in the history of conflicts, the entire world must stand firmly against this barbaric, unbridled behavior, unequivocally condemn the crimes of the fascist Netanyahu government, and work to bring the leaders of the criminal occupation before international courts to hold them accountable for their crimes against humanity.

The Israeli army publishes the results of its investigations into the Erez-Beit Hanoun camp and crossing in the northern Gaza Strip.
Army investigations show that at the beginning of the attack, the soldiers abandoned their positions and hid in shelters.
Army investigations show that officers entered the shelters before the soldiers and without ensuring their safety.
IDF investigations show that the combat force at Erez was insufficient even for a scenario less than October 7.
9 soldiers were killed and 3 others were captured in Erez on October 7.

The occupation committed a massacre against them and killed them directly in the Tel Sultan area of Rafah.

🇮🇱 🇵🇸⚡️- Red Crescent:
The Red Crescent Society was shocked by the martyrdom of eight of its paramedics in Rafah, who were targeted by the Israeli occupation forces while performing their humanitarian duty. They were heading to the Hashashin area in Rafah to provide first aid services to a number of people injured as a result of the occupation forces’ shelling of the area.
The ninth paramedic is still missing, and six civil defense crews and a UN staff member have been recovered.
This massacre of our crews is a tragedy not only for us at the Palestinian Red Crescent, but also for humanitarian work and humanity. The occupation's targeting of Red Crescent paramedics and their protected international emblem can only be considered a war crime punishable by international humanitarian law, which the occupation continues to violate in full view of the entire world, which has so far failed to take serious steps to prevent the occupation from continuing these blatant violations of international conventions against health and humanitarian workers.
We demand that the perpetrators of this war crime be held accountable, that an immediate and urgent investigation be conducted to ensure justice for the victims of this massacre, and that the fate of missing paramedic Asaad Al-Nasasra, whose whereabouts remain unknown, be revealed.
With the martyrdom of the eight paramedics, the number of martyrs from the association in the Gaza Strip has risen to 27, targeted by the occupation while performing their humanitarian duty in the Gaza Strip.

Condolences and condemnation
The Ministry of Health condemns the heinous crime committed by the occupation forces when they targeted paramedics and medical crews from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society while they were carrying out their humanitarian duties in Rafah Governorate a week ago. The bodies of eight paramedics were recovered today after contact with them had been lost over the previous days. Some of these bodies were bound and shot in the chest, and they were buried in a deep hole to prevent their whereabouts being identified.
We call on the United Nations and relevant international bodies to conduct an urgent investigation into these crimes and hold the occupation accountable for committing them.
We also emphasize the necessity of providing protection to medical personnel, ensuring their safe access, and providing services to those in need, as guaranteed and stipulated by international laws.
