Thank you for the gift

Let us remember, my brothers, that we are in a blessed month, one that contains a night better than a thousand months. If we were to occupy ourselves with the Quran, prayer, and Duaa for Muslims in general, and for Sham, Gaza in particular, instead of the news as the known Hadith says:

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“There are three whose supplication is not rejected: The fasting person when he breaks his fast, the just Imam, and the supplication of the oppressed person; Allah raises it up above the clouds and opens the gates of heaven to it. And the Lord says: ‘By My might, I shall surely aid you, even if it should be after a while.’”

This is better than wasting time following the news. Some may forget that news and political analyses are merely a means to an end—the support of the religion and preparation—and not an end in themselves. News is a waste of time if used in wrong way.

My advice to you is that, for example, every half hour (if you are truly addicted to following the news), you can open the app for just one minute and see what is happening, then close it. Instead of opening the app randomly from time to time and distracting yourself from actually achieving something.

You will actually benefit more by this because your objective of opening the app will be clearer and more organized.

Take advantage of this great month, in which sins are forgiven by God's permission, and use it for the words of God, the Quran, which are better than the words of humans (which include news, commentaries, analyses, and pointless arguments).

And whenever you come to break your fast, make sure to remember the Hadith that the fasting person has a supplication that is not rejected, if you truly have faith in God Almighty, and remember your brothers in Gaza, Sudan, the Uyghurs, and Syria.
