Unfortunately, the Arab and Islamic world is living through one of the most despicable periods in its history a time that has sown division between brother and brother, between son and father, and ignited discord among Muslims. The greatest beneficiaries of this have been the enemies of the religion. History will record that we were submissive peoples, bowing to others besides God, except those upon whom my Lord has had mercy. This reality is painful, and all I wish is that the Day of Judgment would come before we reach a time when a brother kills his brother, and a son kills his father, because of this deep rift and destructive division that has afflicted people. I ask Allah, Lord of the worlds, to keep me steadfast on the path of truth and not let my heart deviate toward falsehood.
