To everyone who now finds it convenient to blame Hamas for the suffering of the people of Gaza, let me remind you of something you all seem desperate to forget.

This war did not begin in a vacuum, and it did not unfold overnight. Hamas, in coordination with Saraya al-Quds, fought for two full years while the world watched. For two years, you were given time. You were given opportunities. You were given countless chances to intervene, to act, to apply pressure, to do anything meaningful to stop the slow destruction of Gaza.

And what did you do?

You watched as children were killed.
You watched as families starved.
You watched as people slept in the streets with no roofs over their heads.
You watched entire neighborhoods disappear.

For two years, Gaza bled openly in front of you — and you did nothing.

Now, after a ceasefire is reached, you turn around and blame Hamas for agreeing to it. You say they “lost leverage.” You say they shouldn’t have accepted a ceasefire. You say they should have continued fighting longer, continued holding the hostages, continued the war — as if Gaza had infinite blood left to give.

So let’s be clear about what you’re actually saying:
You are angry that they stopped.
You are angry that they didn’t sacrifice more civilians.
You are angry that they didn’t let Gaza burn longer so you could feel better about the outcome.

And while you say this, Gaza is still being bombed from time to time even under a so-called ceasefire.

Where was this demand for “leverage” during the two years when Gaza was begging for food, medicine, electricity — for water to be allowed in? Where was this outrage when people were dying slowly from starvation and exposure, long before any ceasefire talks existed?

Every bullet fired, every rocket launched, every explosion that came from Gaza during that time was made in Gaza, under siege, under starvation, under total isolation. No one was asking you to fight on their behalf. No one demanded your armies or your blood.

They asked you to do something.

And even that was too much.

So spare us the lectures now. Spare us the hindsight morality. What has happened has already happened. The consequences are already written. But do not pretend this is about principles, and do not rewrite history to absolve yourselves of responsibility.

You had two years.

You chose silence.
