We at The Palestinian Observer decided to run a simple experiment to expose the double standards of social media moderation.

We took a publicly visible, explicitly anti-Muslim post that called for mass deportations, bans from public office, and the banning of religious dress. That post remained up and circulated widely.

We then copied the exact same language, changing only one thing:
every mention of “Muslims” was replaced with “Jews.”

Nothing else was altered.
No additional threats.
No escalation.
Same structure. Same demands.

The result?

Our post was flagged for “Hateful Conduct” and had its visibility restricted.

This experiment was not conducted to promote hate against anyone. It was done to demonstrate how identical calls for collective punishment and discrimination are treated differently depending on who the target is.

If hate speech is wrong, it should be wrong consistently.
If collective punishment is unacceptable, it should be unacceptable for everyone.

Selective enforcement doesn’t fight hate — it reveals bias.

The two soldiers killed in an ISIS-affiliated attack on Saturday in Central Syria have been identified as Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres Tovar, 25, from Des Moines, and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard, 29, from Marshalltown. Both served with the 1st Squadron, 113th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division of the Iowa National Guard, which is currently deployed in the Middle East.
