The Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO) is looking into whether the two gunmen who attacked a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney last night—Naveed Akram, 24, and his father Sajid Akram, 50—had connections to the Islamic State (ISIS). An ISIS flag was discovered in their car, which was found near Bondi. According to ABC, Naveed Akram, who is currently hospitalized in critical condition, had previously come to ASIO's attention and was investigated for potential links to an ISIS terror cell operating in Australia back in 2019. This investigation followed the arrest of terrorist Isaac El Matari, who was planning an attack on behalf of ISIS in Sydney.

We at The Palestinian Observer decided to run a simple experiment to expose the double standards of social media moderation.
We took a publicly visible, explicitly anti-Muslim post that called for mass deportations, bans from public office, and the banning of religious dress. That post remained up and circulated widely.
We then copied the exact same language, changing only one thing:
every mention of “Muslims” was replaced with “Jews.”
Nothing else was altered.
No additional threats.
No escalation.
Same structure. Same demands.
The result?
Our post was flagged for “Hateful Conduct” and had its visibility restricted.
This experiment was not conducted to promote hate against anyone. It was done to demonstrate how identical calls for collective punishment and discrimination are treated differently depending on who the target is.
If hate speech is wrong, it should be wrong consistently.
If collective punishment is unacceptable, it should be unacceptable for everyone.
Selective enforcement doesn’t fight hate — it reveals bias.
