Sources from the Syrian Interior Ministry report that the ISIS attacker who ambushed U.S. and Syrian forces today in Palmyra, Central Syria, was a member of the Syrian Security Force from Aleppo. This individual had recently come under investigation and was scheduled for discharge due to discovered ties to extremism, including sympathetic views towards the Islamic State (ISIS).
