The occupation forces' arrest at dawn today, Tuesday, of the Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, after storming his home with a large military force and ransacking its contents causing significant damage, is a continuation of the occupation's aggressive and barbaric approach and its targeting of all components of our people.

This brutal assault and arrest come within the context of the serious targeting of the city of Hebron by the Zionist terrorist government and its plans to annex the lands of the occupied West Bank.

We call on our people in Hebron and its struggling clans to be the protective shield for the national project and to stand as a strong barrier against all occupation plans targeting the city.

All attempts by the occupation to replicate previous experiences will fail as the village leagues failed, and we affirm that our Palestinian people and our valiant resistance will continue the struggle until the dream of liberation and independence is achieved.
