With hearts that believe in God’s will and destiny, and with great satisfaction and submission, we in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourn to the masses of our Palestinian people the great national leader:

Condolences on the passing of the great national leader, who passed away today, Monday, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, at the age of 83, a period he spent as a national fighter in all the fields in which he worked, politically, academically and socially, serving his people and their just cause, and consolidating their national unity and legitimate struggle. We ask God Almighty to bestow upon him His vast mercy and forgiveness, and to grant him a place in His spacious gardens.

The great national leader, Zakaria al-Agha, may God have mercy on him, was an example of his keenness to strengthen national unity among all components and factions of our people, to prioritize the supreme national interest, and to embody national consensus to confront the occupation and its aggressive plans as one.

We offer our sincere condolences to the honorable Agha family in the homeland and diaspora, to our brothers in the Fatah movement, and to all our Palestinian people. We ask God Almighty to inspire us all with beautiful patience and good consolation. To God we belong and to Him we shall return.

The return of Idan Alexander is the result of serious contacts with the US administration and the efforts of mediators, and not the result of Zionist aggression or the illusion of military pressure.

The continued shedding of Palestinian blood by the Palestinian Authority's security forces in the West Bank, and the ongoing killing of our people in the West Bank, the latest of which was the young man Rami Zahran in the Far'a refugee camp in Tubas, coupled with the escalating campaigns of persecution and political arrest of activists, constitute a new blow to the Palestinian social fabric and a disregard for all national calls to stop its targeting of our people.

As we mourn the martyr Zahran and all the martyrs of our people who fell victim to the crimes of the Palestinian Authority's security forces, we call for a unified national stance to stand up against these unpatriotic practices and pressure the leadership of the Palestinian Authority's security forces to halt these grave violations and preserve Palestinian blood and freedom of opinion and expression.

We warn of the repercussions of the actions of the Palestinian Authority's security apparatus and their impact on the national and societal fabric, and we urge greater solidarity and unity to confront the occupation's crimes and brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
