An unusual and disturbing incident occurred during an Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip. A Bedouin contractor, authorized by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Ministry of Defense, was arrested while apparently attempting to steal a MAG machine gun from a vehicle.

Soldiers noticed him in the field when the machine gun was disassembled. According to a report by the Torat Lehma organization, after arresting the suspect, soldiers also arrested members of his contracting team, all of whom had security clearances to operate in a combat zone.
