🇵🇸 Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas issues the following statement:

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful

press release

On International Workers' Day: We commend the sacrifices and steadfastness of Palestinian workers and call for a global labor movement in solidarity with Gaza and in rejection of the Zionist aggression.

This year, International Workers' Day comes at a time when Zionist aggression against our people is escalating. Workers are an integral part of the fabric of our people and are at the heart of our people's struggle for freedom and independence. They are subjected to the most heinous forms of abuse, persecution, siege, racism, and denial of the most basic human rights, amid international silence, inaction, and failure to act to put an end to the occupation's crimes and aggression.

We, in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), on International Workers' Day, pray for the souls of our people's martyred workers, whose blood was the spark and fuel for the uprisings against the occupation. We ask God for healing for the wounded and freedom for the prisoners. We commend the sacrifices of Palestinian workers in all arenas of the homeland and abroad, and we send a salute of pride and honor for their steadfastness and defiance of all forms of injustice, siege, and aggression.
We confirm the following:

First: The suffering of Palestinian workers is part of the tragedy our people are experiencing as a result of the occupation, which has continued for more than seven decades and has been escalating for more than 18 months. This suffering will not end until the occupation ends, and our people, with all their components, will remain committed to their rights until their aspirations for freedom and self-determination are achieved.

Second: The occupation's crimes against Palestinian workers are systematic crimes aimed at disrupting all aspects of human life, in flagrant violation of all international laws and conventions. This calls for urgent international and UN action to halt the occupation's crimes against them.

Third: We reiterate our rejection of all forms of targeting of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) by the occupation and its supporters. We affirm that this is a desperate attempt to obliterate the evidence of its crimes in displacing our people and uprooting them. We call on all countries to continue supporting the agency so that it can continue to shoulder its responsibility and fulfill its humanitarian role.

Fourth: We call on human rights and humanitarian organizations around the world to fulfill their responsibilities in exposing the occupation's escalating crimes and violations against Palestinian workers, and to pressure the occupation to lift its unjust siege on the Gaza Strip and the cities, villages, and camps of the occupied West Bank, and to prevent the occupation from restricting workers' freedom, livelihoods, and jobs.

Fifth: We appreciate the positions of free trade unions and federations across the world, which have always been supportive of our people, their legitimate rights, and their just cause, and have mobilized in support of Gaza and condemned the aggression against it. We call on them to continue and escalate all forms of action against the Zionist occupation until it stops its aggression against our people and our land.

Sixth: We call upon labor movements and trade union federations around the world to make May 1 a moment of struggle to renew support for our Palestinian people by organizing solidarity events, raising the voice of workers in the face of Zionist aggression and criminality, and demanding an end to the war and the occupation.
We specifically call on labor unions in the transportation and port sectors to escalate their boycott of Zionist and international shipping companies involved in supporting the occupation and supplying it with weapons used to kill civilians and commit crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing against our people.
