Actually this deed with the boats wasn’t done by Vikings/Ragnar, it was done by Prince Oleg of Novgorod who is considered the foundational ruler of the Kievan Rus', the medieval state that is regarded as the predecessor to modern Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.

According to the 12th-century Russian Primary Chronicle, Prince Oleg of Novgorod (Oleg the Wise) carried his boats over land during his campaign against Constantinople in 907 AD.
