๐ŸŒ USSR - ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Finland 16:1
March 22, 1970, World Championship

While the Finnish team of that era was certainly far from being part of hockey's elite, this game undoubtedly deserves a spot in the top rankings for one simple reason: it stands as the largest victory over Finland in the entire history of our national team.
The legendary Petrov line (Mikhailov - Petrov - Kharlamov) was already in full force and showcased their devastating power in this game, combining for a staggering 7 goals. Both Boris Mikhailov and Valeri Kharlamov scored hat-tricks.

This dominant performance was particularly striking given the context of the first round, where the Finns had put up a real fight, forcing the Soviet squad to claw out a narrow, hard-fought 2:1 victory. This time, however, it was a case of complete dominance on every part of the ice. In the Soviet goal, veteran Viktor Konovalenko was left with so little to do that he was frankly bored. He was replaced at the start of the third period by the young Vladislav Tretiak, who would go on to concede the team's only goal against the opponents.

In Russian culture, as well as in the culture of other countries, there are national toys with a long history. Today, we invite you to explore our toys and learn some interesting facts about them. We will provide detailed information about each toy later in the article.

๐Ÿ’› Of course, the history of toys includes those made from clay.

๐ŸคŽ Whistles are handcrafted from clay mixed with sand and water, and they come in various shapes, such as birds, animals, or mythological figures.

๐Ÿค Rattles were originally intended to scare away evil forces. For example, Novgorod rattles had the shape of ducks from 1 to 6 centimeters long, and a clay ball or a small stone was placed inside them.

โœจ Filimonov toy (Tula region) โ€” whistles, figurines of people and animals, decorated with various colors.

There were also wooden toys:

๐Ÿ’› Panks were toys made of a single piece of wood, represented by figures of animals, birds, and humans.

๐Ÿฉท "Move aparts" - figures were fixed on sliding slats
Kubar โ€” a wooden ball or cylinder on a short stem, the prototype of the modern spinning top.

๐Ÿซถ Bogorodsky blacksmiths โ€” figures of a peasant and a bear attached to a plank.

And also dolls made of fabric:

๐Ÿ’› Rag dolls โ€” these were made from scraps of fabric, sometimes stuffed with straw, and dressed in ethnic dresses (sarafans) and shirts.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Bird doll โ€” made from a square piece of bright fabric, tied with thread to give it the shape of a bird.

โ˜๏ธ Swaddling doll โ€” a small doll wrapped in fabric, placed in a baby's cradle to take on all the misfortunes from evil spirits.
