Two Opposing Protests at Sydney Town Hall. 8 March 2026.
The first. Ceasefire Now: No War in Iran & the Middle East. Hosted by Connecting the Dots.
The second was a Pro Crown prince Reza Pahlavi Iranian Protest. Hosted by Iraniaus.
I got there on time and it was already on! Both sides only separated by the thinnest of Blue Lines. Reinforcements soon arrived and the Iranians were sent back to their area.
In their words. Connecting the Dots…..”The world has seen enough war.
Enough blood. Enough division.
We gather not in anger, but in humanity.
Let us build a bridge of unity, love, and peace between our communities again.
Let us rebuild trust where fear and propaganda tried to divide us.
Remember the old game:
divide people, spread fear, push nations into endless wars.
We refuse to play that game anymore.
Let us rise together as one people.
Let us turn our pain into a fire of unity.
Together we can say clearly:
No war.
No manipulation.
No World War.
Stand for peace”

Nationwide Student Strike for Palestine. Sydney Town Hall. 11 March 2026.
Hosted by Students for Palestine - Sydney Uni.
There were several hundred students from various high schools and universities in attendance today. They had a number of speakers at Town Hall including Greens Member of Parliament Jenny Leong. This was followed by a March through the city streets to the New South Wales Parliament, where there was one last speech and some chanting.
There was definitely a lot less people here this year. I think it’s combination of a few things probably, the war in Iran at the moment is in full swing, a ceasefire is in place in Gazza, and also probably some doubt in the minds of parents and students themselves about coming out to protest now once these new protest laws etc have happened, and after what happened at the February 9 protest. Just my opinion of course.
